Victim Support Find the Strength

Victim Support

Victim Support is an independent charity working to provide support to all victims and witnesses of crime, their friends, family and anyone else affected. We work across Avon and Somerset to provide services and resources to enable people who have experienced crime to identify positive ways of moving forward.

We are committed to working independently and also in partnership with other organisations to provide opportunities for individuals to engage in restorative approaches. This can be in a project we run or are involved with, such as our pre-sentence Restorative Justice project in Bristol Crown Court or our partnership project with Bristol Youth Offending Team, or it can be through sign posting to other organisations for specialist restorative approaches.

Victim Support believes that all victims should have access to restorative approaches, and at a time which suits them. We take a victim centered approach and so if an individual does not want to participate in a restorative approach we would work with them to identify the specific solution they would like. There is no time limit to our support and so we can work with individuals indefinitely, during which time they may feel able to re-consider a restorative approach.
