The RJC is pleased to announce that Avon and Somerset Restorative Partnership – Bristol RJ service delivered by Neighbourhood Justice Team have achieved the Restorative Service Quality Mark (RSQM).
The award demonstrates that services are delivering good quality, safe and sustainable restorative services that meet the six Restorative Service Standards. 29 organisations – from sectors that include criminal justice, education and care – have now achieved the RSQM.
Commenting, Stephanie Todd, Restorative Justice Coordinator, said:
“We decided to apply for the RSQM so that we could work towards a nationally recognised accreditation, enabling us to prove to victims across Bristol that they can access good quality restorative services. It is vital that restorative justice is practiced safely and consistently and the RSQM provides a framework for safe practice.
“We have worked very hard to achieve the RSQM, but it has been a very worthwhile exercise. We were absolutely over the moon to find out we had achieved the RSQM. It felt like all the hard work had paid off and we had recognition from the RJC that our service meets the required standards.
“I would highly recommend that services thinking of going for the RSQM, do so. It is a great learning tool to help reflect on how things are done and helps you to see how to implement change within RJ services.“
